Professor Tahseen (Tas) Qureshi is a Consultant General Surgeon within University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and balances his time between Poole Hospital and his private practice at the Harbour Hospital (also in Poole, and part of the Circle Health Group).

Professor Qureshi was appointed as a Consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon at Poole Hospital in 2009 and was tasked with introducing and developing the skill set of others in the latest Laparoscopic “Keyhole” techniques for Bowel Cancer surgery. Professor Qureshi’s expertise was recognised in 2011 when he was selected by the Department of Health to become a National Trainer in Laparoscopic Surgery (LAPCO). This role required him to teach and assess other Consultant Surgeons in and around the UK.

In 2015 Professor Qureshi was solely responsible for bringing Robotic Surgery to Poole.  Under Professor Qureshi’s leadership he ensured the expansion of robotic capability into the fields of Head, Neck and Gynaecological cancer treatments.   All this made possible thanks to Mr Robert Braithwaite CBE Founder of Sunseeker International Ltd who donated a da Vinci Xi Robotic System following Bowel Cancer treatment by Professor Qureshi.

Professor Qureshi regularly performs a variety of procedures, ranging from minor to the most complex, for which both he and his expertise are nationally and internationally recognised and respected.
